It started with Coco — and a ruby named Lucy
Our first Cavalier, Coco — Gems Coco Au Lait, bred by Jimmy Lee Roberts — set the standard for everything that followed. He became an AKC champion, earned agility titles and worked as a certified therapy dog. He was proof of what this breed can be: beautiful, capable and endlessly kind.
Not long after came Lucy (Gems Scarlet), a glowing ruby who became the foundation of our whole-coloured Cavaliers. Lucy lived nearly sixteen years and stayed heart-clear to the very end — a living reminder of why we test, why we choose carefully, and what a healthy Cavalier life can look like.
Breeding to improve, generation by generation
We breed for health, temperament, structure and true breed type — with the goal of improving each successive generation rather than simply repeating it. Dorothy has earned the AKC Breeder of Merit at the Silver level, bred dozens of titled dogs and finished many champions, several handled to their AKC championships by Hiram Stewart.
How our puppies come into the world
Puppies are born, raised and live in our home. From their earliest days they're handled gently and introduced to the ordinary sounds and rhythms of family life, so they grow up steady and ready to bond. Every puppy is dual-registered with the AKC and the CKCSC, USA, and goes home on a limited registration with a spay/neuter agreement.
We share copies of the parents' health testing, a veterinary exam, age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, an AKC Reunite microchip and our puppy care handbook — and we love staying in touch with families long after homecoming day.
